In the last days, I attended the International Conference on Social Robotics (ICSR 2025) in Naples, where I had the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research and vibrant discussions on the future of human–robot interaction.
I presented my paper “Robot design and inclusive practices: a pilot study on gender equity in STEM”, which was selected as a finalist for the Best Student Paper Award. The study investigates how robot design choices and the classroom activities can foster the engagement of girls in STEM, promoting more inclusive practices in education.
The conference program featured inspiring keynote talks and stimulating sessions across a wide range of topics. A highlight was the final afternoon dedicated to rising women in social robotics, which offered meaningful perspectives on inclusivity and diversity in our field.
In addition to the scientific program, the cultural and historical richness of Naples — together with its natural beauty — created a unique atmosphere for exchanges and new connections, making the experience both academically enriching and personally memorable.
