In October, the University of Padova welcomed the AI2Schools partnership for a three-day International Teacher Workshop and Transnational Project Meeting, bringing together teachers and researchers from across the consortium to test and refine the educational materials developed so far.
My contribution focused on the presentation of Visual Lab, one of the AI projects developed by me with the University of Padova team. Visual Lab is an activity that engages students in co-designing interactive web applications to explore concepts of mathematics, probability, and statistics with the support of a chatbot, developing both subject knowledge and AI literacy.
The workshop was also an opportunity to gather feedback from teachers across the partnership, discuss implementation strategies, and reflect on how to make the projects more effective and inclusive, with particular attention to engaging girls in AI and STEM. The final day was dedicated to the Transnational Project Meeting, where partners reviewed the overall progress and planned the next steps together.
Beyond the work sessions, the meeting offered a chance to discover Padova, including a guided tour of Palazzo Bo, the historic heart of one of the world’s oldest universities. A reminder that the places where we meet are part of the experience too.
